In December of 2007, I traveled to Poland with 21 people from my school, where we visited 9 concentration camps in ten days. This semester, I am taking a course with some of the people from my trip that reflects and expands on our experience. This is the journal I am keeping as part of the course, a record of my experiences and reflections.
Through my experience, I have come to believe that through keeping a memory, we not only preserve the past but affect our present and change our future. I have come to believe that as witnesses, it is our duty to also be record keepers. I have come to believe, most of all, that there is no such thing as a lesser person.
